Cultural performances/exhibits begin at 1:45 pm featuring Lumbini Kids, Kitsune Taiko, Asian Persuasion, June Kuramoto, Nakama Daiko, and happyfunsmile. Manto-E services will begin at 5:30 pm. The tradition of Manto-e during the Obon Festival is to light the sky with "ten thousand lanterns," originating about 1,200 years ago. Manto-e lanterns can be offered in memory of a departed love one. Bon Odori dancing will begin at 6:30 pm.

Obon is a traditional event to honor and express gratitude to the spirits of our ancestors, those before us who provided us with the gift of life. Each year, obon is held as a time to celebrate the return of the spirits of our ancestors.
